We are very proud of our commitment to music and the arts here at North Middle School.
Currently North MS has three orchestra classes, made up of around 90 students:

Chamber Orchestra is a group of highly advanced string players, teacher recommendation
required.

Advanced Orchestra is a group advanced players, usually 7th & 8th grades.  Most
students need to have at least 3 years playing experience.

Intermediate Orchestra is a middle level group, consisting of students from 6th, 7th & 8th
grades.  Beginning students can be accomodated in this class with instructor permission.

The North Middle School Orchestras are under the direction of Mrs. Alice Caplinger.  Mrs.
Caplinger has a Master of Music Education degree with an emphasis in string education, from
Hardin-Simmons University, in Abilene, TX.  She has been teaching in the public schools since
1991, and at North since 2006.
